# squish > squish (https://squish.fit) makes images, GIFs, video and audio up to 99% smaller without visible quality loss. Put `https://squish.fit/?file=` in front of any public media URL and each client gets the smallest format it supports (AVIF, WebP, AV1, H.264, Opus), encoded on the first request and served from Cloudflare's edge cache after that. No SDK or API key is needed. Typical results: a 14 MB photo becomes a 107 KB AVIF, a 1 MB GIF becomes a 58 KB animated AVIF, and a 5 MB 1080p video fits in 300 KB with `maxkb=300&codec=av1`. ## Docs - [Full API reference](https://squish.fit/llms-full.txt): every query parameter, output format, response header, error code and limit, with examples - [Home page as Markdown](https://squish.fit/index.md): what squish does and how to use the web tool ## Examples - [Compressed photo](https://squish.fit/?file=https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3f/Fronalpstock_big.jpg): a 14 MB JPEG served as AVIF or WebP - [Video under 300 KB](https://squish.fit/?file=https://test-videos.co.uk/vids/bigbuckbunny/mp4/h264/1080/Big_Buck_Bunny_1080_10s_5MB.mp4&maxkb=300&codec=av1): a 5 MB 1080p clip as AV1 ## Optional - [Sitemap](https://squish.fit/sitemap.xml)
